Unseasonably warm

That’s right suckers. It is tank top weather down here. Hah… reasons why the south is good. Reasons why the south is not so good… asking which car I route for (as in Nascar)… the notion that their foliage is even half-way decent… that if you’re not so into BBQ you are shunned as a leper… that if you don’t knoe Pack10 schools from Big 10 schools you clearly didn’t get a decent college education… that Waffle House’s and Sweet Tea are a way of life… that everything North of the Mason Dixon is filled with those liberal yankees.

So, work is going good… as work goes. Apparently I jumped about 3/4 of the office to get a new computer… I was told by the IT guy in a hushed whisper by the water cooler, that it was because I was doing so much important high profile work. Well, I don’t know about that last week I made fake money for a public meeting, and this week I copied pictures to a power point. Oh well, as long as the powers that be are making a spot for me in the upper echelons we should have no problems. On that subject I really am ready to become a PM, mostly b/c I cant keep dealing with these idiots that ask me for something at 4:30. Like they hadn’t known about it all day. Turns out I get to go to the Greenbuild conference tomorrow… I snagged some VIP passes. Mostly I got it because I somehow convinced one of the principals that I am very eco-knowledgable… therefore I will be helping organize a Conservation conference co-sponsored by the ULI. Um, yeah Kathrin Scholz-Barth would be so proud of me.

My weight loss regime is going well 2.6 pounds this week… I make sure I pee before all of my weigh-ins, mostly because I dont think a whole latte in my belly helps me out on the scale. Today I felt a bit like an addict though when some skinny guy walked into our meeting asking if this was where the Morningside community meeting was… it was like someone walking into AA, no one wanted to admit what our secret little society was up to. We were told to start planning ahead through New Years for all of the holiday temptation… which pretty much means if I stop eating right now I will save up enough points to last me through Thanksgiving morning.

I watched National Treasure this weekend. It made me miss Philly… although the point when they run in two minutes from Independance Hall to City Hall is a teensy bit far-fetched. Isn’t it always the way that once you leave a place you realize all the things you didn’t do. So, I took it upon myself to start enjoying this city since my time here is limited. I went for my first stroll in Piedmont Park. It was extremely well used on the weekend and I have never seen such a profusion of queens and pug-nosed dogs. Then a la Lauren I went to my first movie alone… granted it was the Legend of Zorro (the only non-Indie film at the Mid-Town Arts Cinema), I just couldn’t stomach anything too depressing. Then I went and read a book at this little cafe where the local freaks were distracting me from my smut novels. Perhaps I will try a museum this weekend, or just grabbing a margherita in Cabbagetown.

I’m out to finish the last few minutes of Sex and the City and then I’m off to bed.
